Why does my battery drain quickly or not charge during rides?

If your battery is draining faster than normal, check the following:

• Connection issue with the motorbike If the Mapit’s connection to the motorbike is not correct, the device stops receiving power and cannot charge its internal battery, even if you ride regularly. This sometimes happens after workshop servicing, where the connection has been handled. In that case:

• Check that the device connector is properly inserted, with no bent pins or loose cables.

• If you cannot locate the problem or prefer not to handle the installation yourself, take it to the dealer or installer who fitted your Mapit so they can check the connection.

• Heat Exposure: The battery may drain faster if the motorbike is exposed to the sun for a long time, especially in summer. Lithium batteries have temperature limitations:

• Storage: -20ºC to +45ºC

• Operation: -25ºC to +55ºC

• Charging: 0ºC to +45ºC .

• Short Routes: If your routes are less than 15–20 minutes or you ride less than 3 hours per week, the Mapit may not receive enough charge. For optimal charging, the motorbike should be in use for sustained periods, regardless of the distance covered.
