Do I need an internet connection to receive alerts?

The Mapit device has its own SIM card. However, your mobile phone must have data coverage to access the app and receive real-time movement alerts.

If the Mapit device detects movement while your phone has no internet connection, you’ll receive the movement alert as soon as your phone regains data connectivity.
